Hi everyone,
I am interested to travel from Bangkok to Hua hin by train with my family.
I have done this before and just turned up at the station to find the train is booked or the ist class is booked out.
Is it possible to book form the UK before I land in Bangkok[/b
Any one know the coat of 1st class

I will be catching the train about 1pm from Bangkok to HH, steerage class, no reservation required, this is on 5th feb.
Just get up to the restaurant car and have some good food and a couple of large Singhas.
I am quite surprised no one has mentioned the head on crash near HH a couple of weeks ago, 3 people unfortunately killed, probably staff. RIP.

The single line operation does look a bit dodgy, when I went to kanchanaburi on the double track section we were side by side with another train for several miles.
The drivers exchange staffs for different sections of track, quite a lot of freight container trains on the HH line as well.
I am not too keen on the 'Special train' diesel railcar, although it does get a move on.
The Thai rail timetable is even less reliable than Air Asia's.
