Most burgers are the same as German sausages. Sweepings off the floor
Thanks guys, now burgers and German sausages are ruined for me...As McD says, "100% pure beef". Indeed, including anuses, snouts, nutsacks and other delicacies.

Then you thouoght wrong!
Beer batter is when it gets all resturanty. It causes the batter to rise slightly and produces a more doughy consistency. You will get the same effect ultimately by leaving the batter out in the warmth, which encourages the wheat gluten to get activated. Us Northerners(!) use cold, generally un-beered batter where the wheat gluten remains inactive. The resulting batter is crisper, and more resembles a tempura type batter than a doughy mess wrapped around an unfortunate fish. Ideally deep fried in beef dripping which, in case the cholesterol police are watching, is less saturated than Margarine!

Yes it is like it, not identical, but the mixing up is very similarBaaBaa. wrote:HHF was right in questioning if Fish batter is like a Yorkshire Pud though, it's nothing like it whatsoever.

Wikipedia think so as well

You beat it up just the same..it is not a million miles away at all

fish batter
4 oz (110 g) self-raising flour
½ teaspoon salt
5 fl oz (150 ml) water, plus 1 scant tablespoon
Just sift the flour and salt into a mixing bowl, then gradually add the water, whisking continuously until the batter is smooth and free from lumps
Yorkshire Pudding
175g/6oz plain flour
2 eggs
175ml/6fl oz milk (whole or semi-skimmed)
110ml/4fl oz water
2 tbsp beef dripping
salt and freshly milled black pepper
