Yarharr shipmateys....at last PIRATES OF THE....blah blah...4 is out on the piratical seas of download in lovely crispy BD DVDRIP formats, so its all hands to the rigging and downloadin we will go!

As usual critics have given it a bit of a pasting...too much going on, too many sub plots, yadda yadda yappit yap. Well screw em says I! Theres no such thing as too much or even enough pirate film about in my book, and PIRATES 4 delivers on all points of the compass.

Picking up a few years after the last one left off, we catch up with Saucy Jackie and Mr Gibbs as they run afoul of an old flame of Jacks, the wickedly saucy Angelica, and her mad bad voodoo weaving dad Blackbeard. All have set sail in search of the fountain of youth, with an expedition of Spaniards on their tails, and old Hector Barbossa who is out to get Blackbeard back for stealing his ship and his right leg to boot. Its full on PIRATES rollicking fun and games, with chases, fights, mermaids and the undead thrown in for jolly...even old Capn Teach (Keefie himself) makes an appearance. Yes its a rollercoaster ride for two hours, but it doesnt feel like flogging a dead horse to this old seadog and hopefully, end of flick hook permitting, theres another segment to come.

Classic pirate film fun, and in a sea of doldrums and remake hell its a definite solid gold keeper. Fatso Ebert can bite my barnacled hornswaggle, and its the black spot for any that doubt my oath. Now get at em you scurvy sea dogs, and set your compass on all the usual sources = veehd, oneclickmoviez, and torrent bay.

Just in case mate the site I get my asian cinema from is

http://myasiancinema.com/

lots and lots of Thai stuff on there - films and series. You ned to register but its free and spam safe. There are some "kids" films in the Thai section, and lots of soppy Thai rom coms.

If its a Thai language version of KFP2 mate then your best bet is keep an eye on the shelves in Tesco and buy a proper DVD version...the graphics are worth it Id say given the price of a chart DVD is only about a fiver. The discs should be about as the copy that is doing the rounds is a Region 6 copy that is a Chinese source. That or try the DVD lads and stalls in town - they are likely to have a Thai language version.

Online sources are thin on the ground for Thai stuff (western films with thai soundtracks I mean). Thais dont tend to use non Thai language movie bulletin boards,or at least not ones I scan...and I scan a stack of the main ones.

Cheers SM. Yeah, tend to buy a few Thai cartoon DVDs on a whim from 7, 7 is brilliant for kids DVDs and cheap toys.

Just nice to have stuff digitally sometimes for long journeys etc.

[EDIT] DOH  Obviously didn't look hard enough - have just seen BaaBaa's post from back in May... well, I have been working away!!

Just having a wander through a couple of the movie sites and came across ''Attack the Block'' - something I've missed totally, but judging by some of the reviews, certainly looks a bit of a laugh and well worth a peek! Downloading a copy at the mo, so will let you know...

Extract from Best For Film review: -

There's a lot of firsts in Attack the Block - it's the first feature from writer-director Joe Cornish (of Adam and Joe fame), it stars a host of first-time actors, and it may be the first time that Nick Frost has done anything without Simon Pegg (or, at the least, Bill Nighy). It's also destined to be in first place on a lot of 'Films of 2011' lists. Witty, scary and replete with incidences of the word 'murk', Attack the Block is utterly brilliant.

Hot on the heels of the underwhelming Anuvahood, the last spasmodic twitchings of the dearly departed UK Film Council have produced another one of those ‘urban’ films designed to confuse American audiences and delight anyone who appreciates being plunged into the authentic atmosphere of a Brixton mugging. But with this sweary, violent council estate drama, there’s a difference – and the difference is called MASSIVE FUCKING ALIENS.

Channelling the goriest and most plasticky of the monster B movies, Attack the Block manages to make a virtue of necessity by letting its slightly low-rent effects hark back to the Plasticine aliens of yore (whilst working in a few lines of dialogue which explain the attackers’ unusual physiques). It’s skilfully done, and evokes the spirit of 80s horror just as convincingly as other scenes echo The Warriors and Streets of Fire. It really is all there – the script delivers, the scares are jumpy, the action is packed and the performances are almost irreproachable. I can think of one other debut film that is as assured and competent as Attack the Block, and that’s Reservoir Dogs. A triumph.

What's all this ''Coral Player'' b*ll*cks? Over the past couple of weeks there's been a few movies I've downloaded where upon trying to play I'm immediately taken to a website telling me I must purchase Coral Player to watch......

Ok I looked it up for you - bad news

The Coral Player scam has hit the torent scene badly. Coral Player is a complete bait and hook scam and their team of badlads have seeded multiple copies of top films across the torrent networks, and are actively polluting the system more and more with each day that passes with more and more bad copies. The files are the right sort of size, but are empty "bulker" files that are just the crappy trailer hook to get you to buy subscription access to their player. Even after buying the access the files still wont play as they are just an empty black screen for an hour and a half...hence the filesize.

Moral of this story.....this is exactly why I dont use torrents. Good file download sites like oneclickmoviez.com and oneddl.com check and verify the files before they list them, so the copies are always what they say, and scams like the Coral Play scam dont work because such listings just dont get listed. Torrents are way too open and easy to interfere with, and you are never sure exactly what you are getting. Torrents are particularly prone to films being incorrectly tagged or named.....DVDRIPS that are CAM copies, films that arent what they say they are, etc.

All you can do with the Coral Play file is junk it and try a different release version and source. Id also do a full virus scan as there are hints the files may also contain trojans.

The VUZE forum has a couple of big long complain threads about the scam. My gut is its probably down to a bunch of sneaky rotten Ivans....this is the sort of scam they regularly pull.

Mostly now I stick to proper downloader sites like StageVu and VeeHD, or otherwise use hoster listing sites like oneclickmoviez and oneddl....via any of those I can drop a film file in an hour and a half to two hours, and I have never dropped a duff copy.......caveat emptor mateys.

Good luck mate.

Cheers for that SM - The one thing I have done is bin the download the minute I see the ''Coral Cr@p'' .... or anything similar for that matter.

Up to now I've only had good experiences with Vuze, but will definitely give the sites you recommend a go. Still trying to get decent copies of Captain America, Kung Fu Panda and even Green Lantern - would have thought no problem by now.

Sunday again, day off site - and did the usual "cabbage''.... DND on the door, mobile off and watch a couple of movies.

Rather than the latest releases..... stuffed by Coral as per above post, I had a look back at some of the Brit Oldies I've got on the computer.

The 2 today were ''The Lavender Hill Mob'' with Alec Guinness amongst others & ''Being There'' with Peter Sellers....... absolute classics, so no point in getting anywhere near a review, but where are these type of films now? I guess it was watching the Drummond Will that got me looking back (not necessarily for black humour) at B&W comedies etc. - and that ''UK Humour''.

What studios are still open in the UK - Pinewood gone I believe amongst others, support being taken away from UK film makers.....(?). We may not produce many, but we have produced some classics.

PH

Capn America and Kung Fu Panda 2 are at oneclickmoviez.com and veehd. With oneclick see an earlier thread post about how to use the download links. I recc 2shared....no filesize limit. Id join VeeHD and use them tho...much much faster. Full film downs in less than 1 1/2 hrs.

Gotta agree on hitting the classics....always a good stable source of film entertainment in my book. Some of my favorite films are old black n whites and stuff like the original 4 Feathers. Watched a few Warner Oland / Boris Karloff 1930s Fu Manchu films over the weekend, including the Peter Sellars comedy Fu Manchu film which was a scream.... Top stuff.

WOOP WOOP....thats the Sandomatic 6000 copy warning going off.....

CONAN....utterly terrible copies are about....some of the worst CAM crap Ive seen in a long time. DO NOT DOWNLOAD...or buy a disk....it will spoil it for you.

ATTACK THE BLOCK.... copies supposedly by the Imagine warez group that are supposedly DVDRIPS are not either. They are bad cleaned up but still wooly vision vaseline type TS copies and are not an Imagine release. They are also linked to a subscribe for the file password mobile phone number phishing scam. Caveat Emptor. If it aint at oneclickmoviez it aint what it says it is.

A friend saw this said it was on par with "A Fish Called Wanda"

Anyone seen it yet?
