Second, there's expat depression that affects all of us from time to time. Google it and there's a lot to read. Everyone seems to be cyclical in mood to some degree or another. Some demand a total change of scenery every 3-5 years (I was like that for a long time), whereas some take 10-20 years to reach a point where they get the overwhelming urge to move on. The urge fades as one gets older.
I think it's human nature to become too used to a place, too familiar with a place, too bored with a place and some people simply need more stimulation that a relocation and restart can provide. It's also true of people who mentally are still searching for some contentment, those who haven't found there niche or there life partner, those who feel they're not fulfilled. Some people never find these things, and accept it. Some don't accept it and in extreme cases take their own life.
It's a complicated subject as to what separates those of us who wander the globe endlessly, and those of us who find a place to be happy very easily. Maybe it's a gene, no idea.
Enough ramble. Good luck Heretostay and keep in touch and let us all know where you end up. Pete
