Rainy season

Post by buksida »

So is it really here or just another weather system? Its showing all the signs with hot, clear mornings and daily afternoon downpours you can set your clock to.

Anyone remember this?

I can remember it much worse than that down Poonsuk and Selakam. Waist deep in water and a current that could knock you over. The open manhole covers, that you obviously can't see, didn't help much either.
Mind you, that was a few years ago and I think the drainage has been improved since then.
However, torrential downpours+high tide=flooding.

I remember several times being stranded down Naebkehard knee deep in water with currents crossing the road able to take me to the gulf

I Remember being in bars on Poonsuk where the water levels were rising and you had to sit on a bar stool with your feet on the bar

I remember the taxi drivers playing with the snakes on the corner of Binterban and Poonsuk

As a rule pagey the mornings are bright and sunny.

Afternoons can get cloudy, humid and sticky

Crash bang wallops can occur mid afternoon (just had one) or evening

Quite often they appear, rumble and get moody and then disappear up to Bangkok

Nowt to worry about really

As a crazy Yorkshireman and only too knowledgeable of UK weather, I have been known to go out and relish in the hot rains. Best shower you can take!!

The wife thinks I'm crackers. I know I am

Normally any time from 3pm onwards. You can feel the barometer.
It won't spoil the day if you get up early enough.

June is usually alot drier than May and July for some reason though, the records back that up.

I cant remember any downpours in June last year, my friend was in Hua Hin in May during all the flooding, I got down there in early June and it was Glorious.

is it raining in Hua Hin every day ?

Post by lockwood74 »

Im over here in the UK.

I often click on the weather chanel on HHAD to see what is happening, according to the weather report, it shows rain/thunder clouds every day, in fact it has shown these for the last month and a half.

Does this mean it is raining every day, just curious as I wnat to know if my garden is getting watered.

Can anyone comment on when it rained last ?

Regards John

lockwood,

I've just spent a month in Hua Hin. I can only remember one day where the rain lasted more than an hour. There were quite a few days with no rain at all.
