calls from uk to thailand

Post by stubby »

Sorry if this is in the wrong section but not sure as to where to post the question.
Has anybody any advice on which service provider offers the best deals on mobile to mobile calls.
Used the HAPPY sim card in thailand but will not work in the uk.

I can vouch for what Baa Baa says. Have been using daily since recommended on this forum. Limited mobile use - worked fine, but can't remember mobile costs - landlines are excellent value.

If you use 12Call and keep the available balance high(ish) it automatically becomes international roaming.

Not mobile calls, but this may be of interest to some. A friend of mine has Tiscali as his ISP. As part of his package, he gets free landline calls to Thailand (landline or mobile).

If you go on to surch engine, look for best minutes or dial around 2 pence a minute, the wife uses them all the time, god she can talk when she is not eating, but these numbers save me a fortune,if you are out and about the post office sell international phone cards that work out around 20 pence a minute. :D

I recently bought a Nokia smart-phone that will let you call via a company called Gizmo whenever you can pick up a wifi signal. The cost to a Thai mobile is 0.04 USD a minute from anywhere, which is not bad when you consider what a dollar is worth these days.

0844 for me - 1p a minute to landline and mobile. I'm with virgin media and they accept it as my bills prove.

These sites at Niftylist give the rates for a number of operators for either:
  • 1. Directly dialled numbers using an access number, billing is added to your phone bill.
    2. Dialling with a prepaid account.
    3. Calling through your computer.
Costs are from 0.5p per minute but can be plus access charges from your network provider.

This one is for calls to Thai mobiles: This one is for calls to Thai landlines:
