GOLDIE,

There are plenty of things to do. If you look at the bottom of this page, you'll find a lot of colourful tabs - have a look through them, they're very good and informative.

You might want to start with Tourism Hua Hin.
Championship Plymouth Argyle 1 - 2 Leeds Utd

Points 46; Position 23 RELEGATED

Personally I never have a lot to do that can't wait until tomorrow.
That's why I'm here!!

But; if you really are looking for some action then rent a bike/car and get out of town.
I intend to live forever - so far so good.

Goldie, is a bit different if u dont live there (like me), I tend to go to the beach during the day and then venture out early evening.
But if it starts to rain head for the nearest bar, most will be open ready to serve drinks.
Is like having a lock in in the UK, just that it rains so hard you cannot leave the bar and it is still daylight.

Rent a car and drive south down the coast. Hit all the beaches and explore the towns.

Find the waterfalls. Locate the Karens around Bangsaphan and pan for gold.

Pranburi, Kui Buri, Prachuap, Thapsakae, Bangsaphan, Chumphon. Stay on the local roads, not Phetkasem highway. Go all the way past Surat Thani then turn west and visit Khao Sok National park.

Stay in guesthouses, eat at the local food shops. There are some great beaches on that drive.

It's a shame to spend 4 months of the best weather season in Thailand sitting in bars.

I can't believe grown adults with some 'experience of life' have so little immagination. Sounds like my children (under 10) saying 'Dad, I'm bored'. How old do you have to be before you can do things for yourself?

Having spent only a week earlier this year in Hau Hin my problem was the complete opposite. I struggled to find varied activities at night, where are all the live music bars and where does everybody go besides the girlie bars.

Things to occupy an idle mind -

1. Cycle - Great exercise and you see so much local stuff.
2. Photography - Great fun getting back to the computer to see what you have.
3. Take up gardening.
4. Learn Thai - Seems to take a lifetime.
5. Go to the beach - Top up the tan or just read a book.
6. Play golf.
7. Go fishing - See our very own Terry.
8. Take up kite surfing.
9. Paint or draw some local scenes/people.
10. Go and help Dawn with her dogs.
11. Buy a book, some bino's and become a twitcher.
12. Start to write the book you've always promised yourself.
13. Take a cookery course.
14. Learn an instrument - Guitars are cheap.
15. Become an alcoholic.......

Some good ideas there Mr. C., I'm keeping the list for later reference, as the university is working my socks off at the moment, but when I have time I'd love to try 2, 6, and 10. Already do 11 and am practicing furiously for 15.

So, being a man of leisure, how many of the 15 do you do? (You don't have to tell us which numbers... )

add to Randy's list

shooting (at the ranges round town)
paintball
go karting
ATVs
the National Park - lots to see
local sights like the waterfalls, hill temples etc
climbing

and if you are bored by all that then you can always learn to be a ninja (see separate post in Foo).....although I think you need to kill someone to graduate from that school, and the place is probably in a hollowed out volcano or on top of a mountain.

Personally I am spending this year living like a bargirl....

sleep 14 hrs, eat and drink/shop 9 hrs and work 1 hr (ish) a day.....
