Hope your new year was fun and that the Guiness was flowing. Buksi forgot his strange love of 'Farleys Rusks'. Ha ha. I think I will be back in sunny Reading by the time that you return to HH. I fly on the 10th, when is it you get back?

Hey there Fonzy... yep, lots of Guinness!
The NewYear passed quietly here. We had snow here yesterday and it is f**king freezing, be prepared when you get back.

I fly into Bangkok on the 9th or 10th depending on those muppets at Bangladesh Airlines. I had a 14 hour delay in BKK on the way home... then couldn't land at Dhaka and flew to some other shit hole in Bangladesh.

Missed my flight from London to Dublin and stayed overnight in the cafe in Heathrow... freezing. Eventually got a flight from Gatwick. I hope the return leg is a little smoother. Maybe I'll see you when you get back.

Buksi..... I'll try to get that stuff for you but space is at a premium so I can't promise anything.

See you soon,

Shaneofski!

This was the only topic I found about Newyear, my question is, do the celebration of newyear belong to the big hotels , or is there any other public celebration.
Is there any celebration in buddism which take place at the same time?

Auld Lang Syne for sure in that Happygolfer found this thread, as HHAD was born on December 27, 2002 and this was one of the very first threads. :D Happy New Year to all, and let us all pray for peace in this world of ours. Pete

Getting back to your original question....I don't think there are any Buddhist/temple events going on except for the faithful perhaps visiting to make an offering for the New Year. I also think you'll find public celebrations at just about every bar and restaurant, and probably on the beach as well. Pete
