Cost of accommodation increasing in price

Post by caller »

Is it just me, or do others view some of the increases locally verging on the silly? Places I have stayed at quite happily in the past in and around town have put prices up significantly - especially for next year - to the point where I really don't consider them being value for money.

And as for the charges being presented by so called "boutique" hotels or whatever, well, s'cuse me, but most have little in the way of location or anything else, particularly mickey mouse sized pools, to justify the cost.

So, now I'm emailing one or two places I know that don't have websites, contacting another that does and still represents VFM and the missus is liaising with a condo to see if we can secure a room.

Otherwise, we'll stay out of town on our next visit.

Is Hua Hin outgrowing me?

Try Pattana Guest House. A lovely 110 year old teakwood fishermans house. Nice garden courtyard and friendly. Rooms from 350 Baht. (They've even got a couple at 214 baht!) or is that over budget
Just because you're not paranoid, it doesn't mean they're not out to get you!
