Anyone a fan/expert on the above? I'm addicted as the Bangkok Post has them daily, but each week only two are 'medium' and two 'hard'. I have trouble with those hard and get stalled when all possible combinations are exhausted. Sometimes I find the "key", which is usually one or two numbers and then the rest goes smoothly through to conclusion. When can't, I guess and have a 50% success rate...LOL.
Anyway, a good game and any tips appreciated. Pete
You can also download a mobile phone version of sudoku (your phone needs to be one of the latest mobile phones operating with either Symbian OS or Windows Mobile OS), which makes long journeys and waiting times easier.
Just Google "sudoku mobile" and find the version for your mobile phone, some of them are free, some limited time or functionality and some requires a payment.
I have downloaded and paid for some of them for my Nokia E61 and it proved a real time-killer (addiction).
There are also lots of free versions for your computer/laptop. After downland&installation you can either play on the screen or press the PrtSc (Print Screen button on the keyboard) and get a hard/print copy of it so that you can carry around.
On the really hard ones sometimes the only way to solve them is using 'Ariadneys thread' This method in a nutshell involves guessing one number and following it through to see if is viable. This method is used as a legitimate method and is mentioned in the suduko help books....

Yes, I actually do use that method with the hard puzzles. Sometimes you can spot the correctness/error almost immediately and sometimes....you need the brain of Einstein to string it out as long as it needs to go to be correct.....LOL.
I'm actually doing an informal study seeing my success/failure and time to solve, after a night on the piss and after a night cutting zzzzz's by 2200. I don't need to publish the results! Pete
