Thailand is the easiest place in the world to obtain a visa in my opinion, just post your application firm and 90 quid off to Hull and you get a non-imm 'O' in less than a week. No questions asked.
If your'e married to a Thai, going for a business visa or retired its just as easy.
No-one have any examples of all thses horendous clampdowns on us ??
Sorry but you sound like a load of moaning minnies (whatever that means, my Nan used to say it).

Oh, for goodness sake, Burger, don't be a twit! You think we're all imagining things? Maybe a case of mass paranoia? If things are so easy for you, I'm glad. If you're trying to convince people buying your properties that everything in the garden is rosy & sweet smelling, up to you & them. As most of them will be affluent retirees, you are, to a degree, correct. But please give us leave to talk about our own feelings about our precarious situations. I should imagine we know these better than you.
As we all have visas etc now & are all still here, then I presume none of us are talking about now. We are talking about
the future as per OP. And our take on the future, based on the recent changes in the past, is that it will get more & more difficult for all expats, but particularly those like Buksi, WL, hogus and myself. My visa is due up in May. I will go back to Hull and anticipate no problems in getting this one. But to bring up my son I need to get one a year for the next 13 years. Do I anticipate it being easy for the next 13 years? No way...and that's what worries me. Not this May, but 2 or 3 years down the line.
If you think we're being moaning minnies, can I suggest you're being a Pollyanna about all this? You really do need to start looking at things from others' points of view, sometimes.
BTW, I just re-read your post. You're not suggesting people post their passport to Hull from here, are you? You are suggesting that we go home to UK & post it from there? Because, as we all know, the first way is illegal & would be the easiest way to get you on the next plane home permanently, if you were caught!
