As Johnny K said, the the Let's Sea is as very good choice for you. I have eaten there and food is very good, staff are very efficient & ambience would be just what you are looking for.

The chineese place on the 17th floor of the Hilton is also very good. Took my GF there for her birthday. Mention that it is a special occasion, and you may get some freebies like we did.

Also a little bit out of town, the Rua Rimtarn at Koh Takiab Beach. It is a fishing boat that is moored in the middle of the local fishing village. You can either eat on the lower or upper deck, food was good, servive was good, and the ambience great.

There is also a place not far from the Rua Rimtarn called La Mer. I have not actually been there, but all reports that I have seen, seem to be very good.

The location of La Mer is good. Nice sunsets over Hua Hin and a nice view if you get a seat by the water's edge.

Wouldn't rate the food or service as anything exceptional although me and Mrs. T have had some good evenings there.

That is the one for me also. I have had mixed experiences of service but the food has always been good but not traditional.

The Viewpoint up past the old Rockestra was also very good but I do not know if it has re-opened or not. Maybe someone who lives up ther knows. Excellent views again.

Chelsea,

It's not a real boat. It's made of concrete!! It's a nice place to eat, though & not expensive, so I agree with you on that one!

La Mer is good, as is Supatras by the Sea (looks like Khao Takiab has the edge in romantic eateries!)

Dawn, you have a very good point with that fact, must admit that I did not take much notice of it while I was there, but thinking of it, you are quite correct.
Still, it does not take anything away from the enjoyment of the place. There is another place (although not as smart looking) at the base of the Big Buddah statue that does a lot of fresh seafood dishes, it is the place with the blue umbrellas.
The food there is really good and very reasonable in price. (I do not think it is the place that you were going to have the sandwich eating protest at)

Yes and plenty of fresh monkey meat for those PWEETA chappies who like their meat fresh.

Hard to beat Supatra.

Right on the beach, view of Kao Takiab with the big Buddha lit up.
Tables set in tropical gardens, sometimes has soft live music.

Food really good, service polite if a bit stiff, definately worth a visit for a romantic night.

American Restaurants Please

Post by kenandlat »

My wife and I live in Chiayaphum but are spending the next two weeks, including 3 nites in Hua Hin playing tour guide for my sister and 3 other relatives from America.

They are very insistant of eating ONLY at restaurants that have American food (flew 11,000 miles to eat American food...lol?????????????)

Anyhow, since my wife and I are not picky lick them, hope someone can help us out by pointing out any American Restaurants we can dump them off in while we eat REAL food.

In Hua Hin there is Burger King that has now been sold off by the Brits to an American company (KFC) so that might do and then of course that most famous of all American characters' namesake restaurant Buffalo Bill's. It owned and well run by an English Guy but do don't have to tell the family.
