Dual Nationality requires 2 Nations to permit it - not just one.
Thailand is one such country that does not permit Dual Citizenship, I beleive.
Whilst it comes with advantages, it comes with some major disadvantages also.
I don't see what advantages are present to be Thai + Another, unless you are both Thai and perhaps Bangladeshi!

I can only imagine that if you were planning to stay in Thailand full time, and you had a child, you might want the child to be Thai.
I suppose the main advantage would be that when they grew up, they would be able to stay in Thailand without visa, or works permit problems. It would be quite easy for the child to change to the nationality of the parents later if they chose to do so.
Seeing how you can get a retirement visa at fifty it’s unlikely, but not impossible that you could have a child born here.

I actually know a farang couple who had a child (now adult) in LOS. I don't know how they worked it, or whether it was a given, but the child, living in Europe does have Thai citizenship.

I think we talked about this point on here before on another thread. I know many a Thai woman married to an American who is walking around with a valid Thai Passport, USA Passport and Thai ID card. They leave the USA on their USA Passport, enter and leave Thailand on their Thai passport, then enter the USA again on their USA Passport. Legal or not?..no clue, but it's common and they seem to be able to keep renewing their Thai passports and ID cards when needed. Have a look at this link.
Its quite interesting.
It answers the questions related to who can become Thai and confirms that I am wrong (this happens often)! Thai can retain Thjai Nationality when also choosing the Nationality of their Spouse.
