Roadworks on highway 4 south of Hua Hin

Post by buksida »

A word of caution to anyone driving south from Hua Hin or coming north from Chumphon. They're digging up the highway again and building what appears to be a lot of pointless bridges and flyovers where they're not really needed, forcing all traffic down to one lane in several places (someone must be accumulating a lot of brown envelopes).

This has been going on for a couple of years as there are hardly any workers at many of them. But it seems to have got worse recently, so it now takes around 3 hours to get to and from Bangsaphan (less than 200kms) and 4-5 hours for Chumphon if traffic is heavier than usual.
