This year's event will take place from the 20th to 22nd December, and will be based at the Dusit Thani hotel.
These old cars always put on a great show, which I haven't got to for a couple of years. I hope to get out for a look this year though.
This year’s event, taking place from 20th to 22nd December, promises to draw crowds of enthusiasts and spectators eager to view the impressive collection of historic vehicles.
At a press conference on 6th November at Dusit Thani Hua Hin, the event’s key organisers announced the details. Mr Khwanchai Papaspong, President of the Vintage Car Association of Thailand, was joined by Ms Wanpen Mansri, Deputy Governor of Phetchaburi, Ms Pailin Kongphan, Deputy Mayor of Hua Hin, and Mr Pipat Patananu-son, General Manager of Dusit Thani Hua Hin, to introduce the event’s 22nd iteration.
The vintage car convoy, expected to feature around 30 meticulously maintained vehicles, will include models from Cadillac, Chevrolet, Buick, Benz, Volvo, BMW, Volkswagen, and Daimler. Many of the cars, which date back nearly a century, have been restored to full working order and retain their original charm.
The parade will set off on 20th December from the Car Lovers Museum on Pracha Uthit Road in Bangkok, travelling south towards Phetchaburi. Along the way, drivers and passengers will stop at temples, historic sites, and local eateries, showcasing the region’s cultural highlights. After arriving in Phetchaburi, the convoy will continue to Dusit Thani Hua Hin in Cha-am for an overnight stay.
The following day, the parade will proceed to Hua Hin, with stops at temples and landmarks along Petchkasem Road, allowing both Thai and international visitors to catch a glimpse of the classic cars as they travel through the area. The evening will conclude with a gala dinner at Dusit Thani Hua Hin, where live music and ballroom dancing will bring to life the vintage charm of Cha-am and Hua Hin’s past.
The event, organised in partnership with Phetchaburi Province, Hua Hin Municipality, and Prachuap Khiri Khan Tourism, aims to support local tourism by encouraging visitors to explore the culture and heritage of Phetchaburi, Hua Hin, and the surrounding areas.
