Hey all. Just wanted to introduce myself. Will be heading to Hua Hin in the coming weeks and wanted to get to know the area a little beforehand.
Ideally I would like to semi retire in Thailand and spend my time socialising, watch sport and having a yarn with you lot.

Welcome to the forum! Plenty of your fellow countrymen here who can help with the Oz specific queries, and the rest of us can help with anything else. Have you already visited Hua Hin?

No I haven't.
Have been to many locations around SE asia, but Hua Hin came highly, highly recommended for lifestyle.
I don't want to sound like an old funny duddy, because I'm certainly not, but I don't like the full on party mode stuff. More laid back scene, having a few quiet beers with good company and having as many laughs as possible.
Probably more of a guy that would kick back and watch some sports with a beer in hand.
