City Beach Resort

Post by johnrxx99 »

Looked at the details from the map link. Most of the reviews said the rooms were large but the place was dirty - windows, sheets floors etc.

Does anyone have up to date views and couls they recommend?

I've read on the site that rates can be agreed 50% lower than advertised. Is that realistice for this place?

Thanks in advance, John

Hi we stayed in city beach in Feb, the lobby is really nice but thats where it ends, the room was shabby, very in need of update, the sheets were grey, the blankets, well i didn't even want to touch them, there was some squashed food on staircase, it was still there when we left.
I could recommend thaipuri city hotel, for around same price much cleaner decent rooms and decent breakfast, only prob not very big pool.

Its cheaper if you book online, internet rates are usually lower than walk-in:

Thank you both for that.

Lev - Can one get an eevn better price than internet if you ring? Don't want to appear cheap but I want somewhere for 2 or 3 weeks and the day rates of quite a few places appear a bit excessive.

Only if you're Thai.

Seriously though you should be able to negotiate a better rate with some places, not sure about those two particular hotels though.

I stayed in the Thipurai City a couple of weeks back. We had a junior sweet which was really nice. The hotel is very clean, in amongst it all, but quiet at the same time. As stated above, the pool isn't massive, but big enough to cool off, we enjoyed our stay here.

As far as getting a cheaper room, we phoned & booked with them & got 10 nights for the price of 8.

Many thanks both. I'll give Thipurai a ring.
