Carlsberg may soon find its way back unto the beer shelves in Thailand. After last year’s legal agreement with multi-billionaire Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi from Thai Beverage, the Danish-owned beer giant considers making a comeback on Thailand’s lucrative beer market after three years’ absense. In the legal document, the two parties signed an agreement to investigate the possibilities for a potential cooperation.

News of a sort OK but, What has to be considdered here is the beer will be brewed in Thailand and will be yet another Thai brewed foreign labelled beer and knowing how Carlsgerg operate I would think that they would be minimise raoyalties and maximising profits.
It is also and inferior beeer in most countries that is is sold. Carlsberg, like McDonalds and Coca Cola have publicly stated policies that the wish their products to be available in all the countries in the world.
The effect is that people who buy these beers because they are told on TV to do so are ignoring the decent beers who suffer as a result.
My advise is that if the shit is brewed again in Thailand then avoid it. You will be doing more for Thailand by ordering a bottle of Leo.
Calrsberg's stated mission is to become the beer of choice. This they try to acheive by giving resellers lots of goodies, and pushing aside the other brewers who do not have the marketting clout to compete. When you then enter a bar that is stocked 90% with Carlsberg they can them come up with the statement. that Carleberg is the beer of choice. Like Miller in the States, If you go somewhere that only stocks Miller and Budweiser most people settle for Miller making it the beer of choice. It is only the beer of choice because the large corporates have driven all the others out.
