I for one certainly hope not. I've gone from overwhelming joy to tears over here in Pattaya over the past many years. You can't stop development but you can try to stop it being done incorrectly. How?...you need high powered Thai friends or, at least spread the word among your Thai wives/friends that when they chit-chat in the market...be sure to talk loudly so everyone can hear that tourists will stop coming and spending money if HH goes down the same road as Pattaya. The grapevine may take care of the rest. Other than that...pray. Pete

I asked before, for clarification, so maybe somebody can tell me now: is there any treatment of sewerage at all here? Or does all the raw manure, etc., go directly into the gulf?

Not sure if its turning into Pattaya as the "Big P" is famous for something which there is relatively little of in Hua Hin.

When you look at maps of proposed roads and developments though you can see the similarities between the two. There is no stopping the wave of development, we can only hope that it is properly managed with a solid infrastructure and forward thinking.

Jeez, did I just write that? Nearly forgot what country I'm in then ... roll on mayhem

Buksida you have now completely lost the Thai plot. Absolutely no chance whatsoever.[/quote]

The poo question is a good one. I have always assumed that it would not be right to have turds washed up on the King's beach, so that there was a treatment plant. But i'm buggered if I can ever remember seeing it...do we actually have one?

See you all next Thursday.

Come on people - get a grip - Hua Hin will is not going to another Pattaya in our lifetime. Take a look around at what happens here its just not feasable.

I agree too, Huahin will not come to be like pattaya.
I think reason for that is King's Palace at Huahin.

The white dotted lines are proposed roads, the outer one is already being constructed:

Dear all people on this forum!

Hua Hin might be a big place soon in the short future but I am soooo sure Hua Hin will be such a high quaility place to live, who ever want to run those kind business like Pattaya (Pla a Ya!) that I am sure you will get kick off by the local Thai Hua Hin people who they are really pround of this place and are so lucky to be Hua Hin's people as the King is here....

Do Not Guess!!!

think about it very carefully!!

IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN

Post by TALBOTMAN »

AS SOMEONE HAS ALREADY STATED as long as the king lives in hua hin the pattaya type of entertainment will never be allowed to happen and i for 1 am thankful for that lets face it i like the bars of pattaya/bangkok/patong as much as any other guy but isnt it just great to be able to retreat to places like huahin and lamai beach on kho samui and be able to have arelaxing time at the end of your los holiday and then go home actually feeling like you have had a holiday. i love the relaxation of huahin in the daytime and the easy going nightlife and restaurants. Long may it continue. basically iff you want rowdy nightlife which i like as well you can go to pattaya/patong but leave huahin as it is a sanctuary of calm and relaxation.
