He will get away - to another country
Who'd want to be in his gang?
You are right ting-tong,
but this is only the top of the iceberg

That didn't work. In precis, the Guardian's correspondent, who's in Vietnam reports that Glitter looked confident when he arrived at court.
There are discrepancies in testamony from both sides. The girls, believed to be 11 and 10 years old, have changed their story a few times. Their families accepted money as compensation earlier - this is a culturally acceptable way of doing things in Vietnam.
However, by giving payment, Glitter has accepted some responsibility, so his "not guilty" plea is contradictory.
The charges are of molestation, not rape. The prosecution are asking for 3-4 years jail, followed by deportation. The max for this type of offence is 7 years. It's thought highly unlikely that the judge will impose a sentence higher than the prosecution are asking for.
Glitter looks like he must resign himself to doing some time.

Just reported in Australian Press that he got 3 years in jail. It stated that he was stunned at the verdict.

Today he got 3 years and ordered to pay the victims families a massive (not) US$315.
Upon his release he'll be deported.
He'll probably serve 18 months and be plying his evil trade somewhere else in Asia.
Would be great if every country bans him from entering, and he has to go back to the UK with his tail between his legs to face the humiliation.

These people dont change, its a medical problem i think. Anyone who can do stuff like this sicko does should be put down. I wonder if its a genetic thing, i.e. are his off spring more likely to develop the same tendancies? At least his 1000$ didnt manage to get him away with no punishment, i dont think that vietnamese jail will be particularly nice. Sum Num Nar! (in my best Thai).
Seems like he will be expected to do a 3rd of his sentence - didn't realise other Countries were wet like the UK - still, live and learn. He's already been in custody for 4 months, which is included, so he'll be deported before Christmas.
The next trick for his lawyers is finding another Country to accept him, other than the UK, which has to.
He's already permantly exluded from Cambodia and was scheduled on a flight to Thailand when caught.
I guess its about how much the UK really wants him back and who, quietly, in the months to come will take a wedge in return for a visa? Maybe its gone too far for that?
