Well now I use a different route..may seem slower, may seem longer, but no snarl-ups due to poor road-planning.
So then, here we go..
Keep on Hwy 4 going North, pass Ratchaburi, pass the Kanchanaburi turn offs, & as you hit Nakorn Prathom you'll see big green sign for a left turn onto Hwy 321.
Take this left turn onto the 321 & stay on this till it meets the 346..(another big overhead sign tells you this)..Right turn onto 346 & it's now Eastbound & down all the way to the good-ole Hwy 9.
On the 346 you will meet a junction where they've blocked off the intersection..you must go left onto a dual-carrigeway,after 100m.. over to right, use the U-turn, back on yourself then peel off left back onto your road.
This 346 meets Hwy 9 about 5/10 mins before it goes over the Chao Praya river bridge..well beyond the BKK metropolis.
Please note there are quite a few sets of traffic lights on this route, but time-wise I'd say there's not much difference..& way less volume of traffic...
