*Closed* Wanted:Dog Cage *Closed*

Post by Arlo »

Anybody have a dog cage they want to get rid of? My wife found a dog that was hit by a car. The dog was outside a home and when she spoke to the owner of the house he told her the dog was his and it was hit 4 days ago. The dog has a broken pelvis and a wound on her leg that is infected. The man said that the wound stunk so bad from the infection that he didn't want the dog inside so he just left her on the street to suffer.

My wife ended up calling the vet to come get the dog, which they did. The dog is now at the vet and they are trying to heal the wound on her leg. They had to cut the infection out to the bone to stop it from spreading. As of now she sits at the vet with a broken pelvis and a wound that they hope will heal.

The doctor said that if the wound heals she still has a chance. My wife plans to take the dog home when the doctor gives the go ahead but she will need to stay in a cage until her pelvis heals. If the dog heals we hope to find a good home for her but I know that can be difficult. We already have 4 dogs. The other option is to bring her to live with my wives mother in the village. The dog had fought for 4 days to live before being rescued. Her name is Cake and she is about 7-8 months old.

So if anybody out there has a cage they want to sell or give away please let me know.

Sod's law that.

Big Boy very kindly gave away his cage to me a few weeks back. I'm only using it for rabbits right now until I get myself a small dog. You are welcome to have it for a better cause but I'm in BKK. If yourself or anyone you know is in BKK I can bring it to the Hua Hin end of Rama II road if you like (about 1 hours and 40 minutes from Hua Hin) for collection.

This is the cage here. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=28326.

Thanks for the offer, I am overseas right now so its up to my wife if she can arrange something and pick it up. I will see what she says though. The other thing is, according to the doctor it can take 2-3 months for a pelvis to heal and she will need to be in the cage so she doesn't move around. That will put your rabbits out of a home for a while and if you get a puppy you will need the cage. We will buy one if need be but thought I would ask here and see if someone just has one laying around that's not in use. Thanks again and I will get in touch if she wants it and if you can part from it for such a long time.

Thanks for the offer, I am not sure you would be able to part with it for such a long time. According to the doctor it can take 2-3 months for a pelvis to heal. That will make your rabbits homeless and will be inconvenient for you. We will purchase a new one if need be. I just thought I would ask here and see if someone has one laying around that they don't use anymore. Thanks again for the offer. Hopefully the dog will pull through and have a happy life.

I'd say a cage for the dog's ex owner is warranted

Good luck with the rehab!
