I have noticed recently that there are many farang in Hua and the numbers are increasing.
They are causing many problems here. They walk about in the road as if it were a sidewalk with absolutely no consideration whatsoever for the innocent motorcyclist. They have no idea the damage that they could cause to the motorcylcle in the event of a collision.
They do not seem to understand that here in Thailand we drive on both sides of the road and insist on importing their illogical regimented driving policies which deny us the freedom that we have always enjoyed.
They get drunk and make a lot of noise and get frisky with the local ladies even when they are obese and revolting.
They block the aisles of the shopping mall with their bloated overfed and under exercised bodies whilst having twenty minute conversations regarding the quality of potato chips.
They rent out motorcycles and other motor vehicles and clog the streets due to their inability to control the vehicle in the manner that is the norm in Thailand.
Now to make matters even worse some of them have even been trained in very basic computer skills and are even logging into HHAD.
The sad thing is that there is no rescue or alchohol rehabilitation centre in place to cater for the needs of the happless individuals.
When it is absolutely freezing they complain about the heat and expect fans and air-con to be switched on.
Many of them can not speak any Thai at all and can only speak a very gutteral form of English. If they are not understood they repeat what they have just said at a greater volume.
Action is needed now.
I have sent a letter of concern to Khun T and I am eagerly awaiting his reply.
May I, again take the opportunity to wish all my Canine, Feline, Piscine and Humanoid friends a very happy new year.

I agree wholeheartedly with the comment about the shopping mall. God knows, those aisles are narrow enough already without being blocked by tourists! And my Thai is bad enough, but I've been tempted to help out with enquiries half a dozen times this year already. I HATE helping out!!!

Keep your chin up Dawn and do not let distractions sway you from the route you are taking. These situations are just put there to build up your true resolve.
Keep up the good work.

Farang in Hua Hin
Hi To Everyone.
Sorry Guess but I will be adding to the number of farang in Hua Hin in March. It will be my forth visit and I can assure you walking in the road is the last thing I will be doing. I am still trying to work out the logic to Thai driving. So far I have come to the conclusion that be it motor bike or car car, you take the shortest route be it with the normal flow of trafic or against it on which side of the road this requires.
As for obstructing anyone from doing thier shopping in the supermarket!, I will do my best not to get in the way.
