loss of face for police as cavalcade comes thru' H.H.

Post by usual suspect »

At teatime tonight most of Hua Hin's traffic came to a standstill or was gridlocked!..??
Cones were blocking exits to roads coming out of junctions (no warning)..heaps of motorbikes doing U-turns & finding ways to beat the traffic jam that was down Petkasem Rd.
At the main rail crossing an old pick-up had been used to block part the mid-section of the 'roundabout' off ..then all up Chomsin were flag-waving Thais, all sat waiting..but by the time the king's cavalcade arrived, impatient Thais had squeezed thru past the police & their makeshift barriers & cones and were merrily progressing homeward up the other carrigeway..then the cavalcade was forced to pull over & nearly halt because of these riders/drivers..BIG no-no.. :tsk: This cements the unwillingness here to obey any traffic-laws be them permanant or temporary..just another case of 'well this lanes blocked, but the other side is looking good'.. :banghead:
I think the MIB asigned to traffic-duty there may get a roasting..
But the wife's happy 'cos she got a glimpse of the King.. :thumb:
