A Better Bank

Post by coloradokid »

Can anyone recommend a good bank here in HH?

I have an account with a bank that I really liked in Bangkok, but their service here is less than poor. This branch usually keeps me waiting 30 min just to see a teller.

Yesterday I waited almost an hour to make two transactions. When they finally did call my customer number, the teller couldn’t even process a payment to a bank card their Bangkok office issued. The teller refused to ask the other tellers or supervisors for help

When I make deposits to my account I opened in Bangkok, they charge me 30 baht “commissionâ€

I´ve used both Thai Farmer (Kasikorn) and Bangkok Bank for six years now.
Of the two I recommend Bangkok Bank. Just see their websites to know what I mean.

And no, I do not own either of them.

Selecting which bank depends mostly on what you wish to use it for. Some are better at money transfers, some have shorter queues tha others etc.

I am surprised at their being long waits at Ayuthya though seeing as they have two branches here.

Krun Thai has a ticket system which seems quite effective and stops people queue jumping.

Bank Bangkok is good for foreign transfer as they have branches in many major cities worldwide including London. They still work on a branch basis though so if your account is at a branch other than Hua Hin your money might as well be on the moon.
