Just planning my annual trip to Hua Hin (seven years and counting), I normally stay at the City Beach. Please can anyone advise if the hotel has had a bit of a tart-up? Over the past couple of years, I felt it was looking and feeling a bit tatty.
Also, is Roy (the Professional Golfer) still about in the Fairways Bar, if so, anyone have a contact point – such as an e-mail?

Cheers
Roy is no longer in Hua Hin. His wife sold the bar to another English guy when Roy was back in England. I believe that somebody has had contact but I am not sure. I will ask around.
As for hotels, plot up at City Beach and if you are not happy check out the alternatives.

Can confirm Guess' informations. Wife back in Issan with baby. Roy back in England, at least last I was there (august).
City Beach is very 'tired'. You'll get a lot more for your money elsewhere.
bircow and Guess are right.
CB is ok but with no charm and so boooring.
Try one of the guesthouses with surroundings closer to "heaven".
They are more friendly and have an overwhelming more loose atmosphere than CB.
But it's up to you what you prefer.
I will be moving to HH in about a year for 7 months, it's still a while away but can anyone recommend what they think is the best choice in accomadations for that period of time? Guesthouse, hotel,....? and if so what are some names? All replies are appreciated.
If it were me CH, I’d find a hotel/guesthouse for a couple of weeks to get my bearings and then look for a apartment or a house to rent for 6 months.
I lived 6 months (2004) in London Lounge while Wij was running the place.
That was ok but I would not recommend this to you as Wij have other things to do for some years.
Do as Fybo say and get a house/condo.
Would guess that you have to pay between 10G - 25G/month for a house.
Baht of course.
Condo prices ??? no idea.
Thnx, I appreciate the replies and it sounds like a good idea. I saw a couple of sponsors like 'The Shed' and 'Goannas'. Does anyone know if those are good places to stay for a couple of weeks and/or are there others.
Thnx that sounds good. Does anyone know how far Springfield Golf Course is from the city and if there is any accommodations within the price range stated above in the area?
