need to buy dollars
Re: need to buy dollars
Can't believe there is much difference in exchange rates really, as it is just holiday spending money. I have always used the big Kasikorn opposite Esso and it has always been fine. But can't think any other bank would be significantly different? Not like they make them themselves !!
Re: need to buy dollars
sorry, I didnt mean exchange rates .Ive been to a few banks already in hua hin .
Its not easy to buy the dollar denominations that I need ( not only 100 hundres notes) and also they have to be in perfect condition as otherwise they are not accepted in myanmar .

Re: need to buy dollars
We had great trouble earlier this year getting dollars as we needed small denominations and they also had to be in perfect condition. The banks were of little help but a lot of the exchange booths around town where able to help later in the day once they had received the notes themselves from tourists. We were told there are all sorts of rules concerning dollars and money laundering!
Re: need to buy dollars
In the past - and it is quite a few years ago now - I've picked up the dollars in Ranong (I'm assuming you might be going on a border run there). Plenty of touts around in those days and notes were all in good condition. The amount of Baht they wanted made a mockery of the exchange rate but the amount being changed was minimal.
Only thing is that I can't vouch for these people being around now but I'd be surprised if they weren't.
