The president of BCCT Graham McDonald, has contacted me. BCCT has been very active in BKK and Pattaya for many years and recently has spread its wings to Chiang Mai and Phuket.
They are interested in knowing whether there is any interest in them having events, (usually a 6.30pm drinks, snicky-snacks and conversation evening) in Hua Hin.
I told him that I doubted it but would sound out the community here. In Bkk and on the Eastern seaboard there are many more British residents who have businesses or work for large corporations where networking it part of a days work, here much less so.
The other thought he had was a joint meeting with the Aussie, Canadian and NZ Chambers.
Any thougts????

I'm not resident presently in HH and don't know about the commerce situation there either but have met Graham before in BBK and he's a very nice chap and certainly knows his stuff on this front.

Hi DrMike
I'd certainly be interested in this, but what are the criteria - do you necessarily have to be a UK citizen to be involved?

No, in fact the previous President Rodney Bain, was an Australian citizen but had worked most of his life with British companies.

Ok, great news - so I'd certainly be interested in getting involved!Dr Mike wrote:No, in fact the previous President Rodney Bain, was an Australian citizen but had worked most of his life with British companies.
Re: British Chamber of Commerce Thailand
Pretty sure the BCCT has held events in Hua Hin in the past.No doubt sponsored at the time by a property company or two. I suggest you check their records for how they were handled and participation levels. I believe they brought down some members from Bangkok by bus to swell numbers -There is also the possibility that Bangkok based businesses would be interested in such gatherings. Certainly the Hua Hin market would be of interest to companies such as Mr. McDonalds
Re: British Chamber of Commerce Thailand
I have been to a few of the events in Bangkok and always very well organised. They always seem to find great speakers and are worthwhile attending even if your not interested in networking. I would be interested in going to any events in Hua Hin.
Re: British Chamber of Commerce Thailand
i would also be interested a friend of mine goes to the some of the meetings in BKK and has asked me along a few times but never made it, more of a chance if its in HH
Re: British Chamber of Commerce Thailand
Would be interested to.
