We have just been through the painful task of finding a maid who understands that being maid includes duties such as cleaning, and not watching TV, spending hours on the phone.

After about 2/3 months of searching, gone through about 6/8 maids, we have finally found a good maid.....

In the end we went through an agency in Bangkok, which we had to pay an initial finders fee, but it was worth it. The 1st 2 maids the agency sent were not up to the task and was quickly replaced by the agency. I've now idea if this agency has a good reputation (my wife handled it all), but in the end, they did get us a maid we had been praying for...

If you would like their number, pm me..

Good luck in the search of a good maid.

Thanks mate. Im guessing you have a live in maid though? I only need a local girl to turn up once or twice a week for a couple of hours.... Surely they cant **** that up? Can they?

I mean yes I could see how a live in maid may take the **** and watch tv etc for half the day, but if she is just coming for 3 hours, while I am there, surely they just get on with it? Im just talking the basics: sweep, mop, disinfect surfaces, clean windows.

[Mod Edit] Language toned down a little. Woody, please remember that this forum can be read by all age groups.

Part time maids can be very difficult to find anywhere here. People want a full time job and the security it brings. Many are not willing to do part time as if they don't fill up all of their possible working hours, they end up at the end of the month with not enough to pay the bills. Maid level people aren't really working to generate extra income, but to secure primary income. Pete

Yes, we have a live in maid...

I was surprised to find that most of our wanna be maids, didn't actually know how to clean, my wife had to teach them....some actually struggled to grasp the basics  and retention rates of their newly learned skills only lasted a day or so

There is a village/property management company, Room by Room, that can supply a maid for a few hours at a time. Our neighbour uses them.....so they might be worth a try.
