Fire near Dechanuchit Road

Post by han108 »

Hi
I understand there was a fire somewhere near Dechanuchit Road on Thursday. Are there any reports of damage in the area.

I heard rumours saying it was the All Nation Guest House that burnt down.
Is it true?

Not the All Nations! Went passed it this morning.

I love that shot of the Fire Brigade 'rushing' to the fire. No lights flashing, wearing T Shirts and Shorts. TIT.

So does anyone know what actually burnt then?

Not a farang property shop by any chance?

Isn't it two All Nations Guesthouses?
One meant for farang guests in Dechanuchit Rd. and another one for Thais between Dechanuchit Rd and Chomsin Rd.
I still believe it was the latter you now can consider as history.

But; as I'm back in Hua Hin I'll go and check it up myself tomorrow.

Correct. Owned by All Nations Guest House it was their "dosshouse' that burnt down. A kind of YMCA costing 100 Baht, I believe, for a small room with a bed, with communal washroom and toilets.
I looked round the place the last time All Nations was up for sale, a kind of buy one get one free kind of offer. Not supprising it burned down so quickly, it was more or less one big room upstairs with plywood dividing walls for the bedrooms.

Thank you news, and you're absolutely correct.
I saw it today, just ruins left.
Quite sad actually, because that's where I met my wife an awful lot of years ago.
A backpackers eldorado, and the place where I had my first "meeting" with the mystery-drink, and the award-winning and wonderful "Sang Som".
Another great thing was the Cobra Show just across the street which really gave you some input of why you should not move here.
