Hi all,
This is my first post and first time in Hua Hin.
I've lived in Thailand now for over 6 months and travel through out the kingdom as much as I can. I met a guy in Chiang Rai of all places who raved and raved on about Hua Hin so I thought I'd better go down there and check it out. What I'm seeking is an apartment for one month, nothing fancy required from around the 5-7000bt range. Does anyone have any recommendations.

You could well try CONDOCHAIN.
It is situated on the beach side of Phetkhasem Road about opposite Soi 94/2 ie up from the central Post Office going south . It is 50% closer to the centre than Sports Villa.
I have friends who stay there year after year for around the price you are looking at, on a monthly basis.

Sport Villa also, in soi 88 area there are many apartments - one called Residence which is supposed to be ok - in the right price range to.

Richard : Can you answer BB's request as I am interested also as I have a 1 bed unit there. I know it will be a studio with bathroom but does it have any cooking facilities? As you are well known for eating out maybe you do not need them anyway ? Also do you use the beach and pool ?
One reason I ask is that I also have a new 2 bed, 2 bath house on Soi 88 for rent which for long term, 6 months or more, I will rent for only 10,000.

Condo Chain will rent from 1 month to 12 months plus with no deposit required
Going rate for a studio room is 10k and 8k for long term. Electricity and water billed separately on a monthly basis
All rooms have aircon and a balcony with a view, clean and adequate bathroom with a tub. A kettle, cutlery and plates and bowls. A thorough spring clean service is available at 150bht
Rooms are available with separate bedroom(s) and kitchen but no doubt more expensive
Mine is a studio room with no kitchen but has a balcony overlooking the pool and facing south. So the benefit of a view of the gulf and a view of the mountains and the sun all day with always a breeze from the south or the north
Pool is clean and quiet and the beach is 70 metres away. Corner shop available on the ground floor of the 19 storie block
Internet access on Citywide good if 5 floors or above
Occupancy fills up at the weekend with Bankokians
Albeit a quiet, friendly and relaxing place to stay or live
Access to the town is easy. A 15 minute walk on the beach, a 15 minute walk down Petchekasam, bus across the road for 10bht
Staff and security very friendly and efficient

I will be back on 20th July, most days I walk the beach for around 2 hours then sit at Richard's Bar situated 5 mins walk to the left as you hit the beach...............but I am sure you know it already
