I've been downloading it now for a month from Pirate Bay but my connection is typical Thai/third world speed

Yes Monsieur Richard that's the case if you are paying the fee for the INTERNAL broadband Thailand use.

You'll obtain a faster speed if you are willing to pay the Thai INTERNATIONAL broadband connection fee, but that's 3 or 4 times as expensive as the INTERNAL fee but you will get a higher bitrate (bit/s) if you are willing to pay for it.

It's mostly a question about prize and what you are willing to pay for your broadband internet connection.
Around 1000 Bt pr month should give you around 0,3 Mega byte pr second because that's what you pay for.
I suppose that many of you are not using Thai internal websites but don't want to pay the fee for the international broadband connection.
This has something to do with the "fu##"ng" dynamic IP address system in this country.

Vuze is now my preference for downloads. I have a 3T premium service that costs around 1160 THB per month. My house (new) is in the northern part of Hua Hin, near the airport, and my internet connection is pretty stable. Since I arrived in Thailand some years ago I have learned to accept that many things we take for granted in the West do take time here in LOS. I am retired and can make the time if I want to.... and I have successfully downloaded a number of ALLO ALLO shows; they are readily available from Vuze.
Patience, my dear friends, patience, and you shall be rewarded...
