Can you clarify please? When you say 'take' do you mean take you own bottles in, or take your bottle of beer with you when you leave?

If you mean take in a bottle of spirits, you might find the odd Thai owned place that will allow it as long as you’re spending enough money in there on food and other drinks.

I am out and about now and again and when going around The Thai bars I normally take my own Vodka with me.
The good lady has banned me from the wisky, seems to have a bad effect on the night out.
Some places will charge a small charge for openning your own bottle, others dont mind as you are buying their mixers, ice, food ect....
The places I can remeber the names of are, Luk nam, Sam, Check Chue, 100 Pipers. Seems commonly accepted in The Thai places and the only one I can remember taking a corking charge was Check Chue.

Dear old Eric in Chaam always took his own SangSom to Paradise Bar there, and also to my bars in HH in the old days. No one seemed to have a problem with it and it certainly never bothered me. Often he would run out and have to buy another half bottle from the bar anyway!
Mai Pen Rai. That was pre recession times of course, when rents were much lower and there were less farangs about.
