Hotel suggestions in Bangkok please
Usually when i come for a visit i have a taxi waiting and head straight for Hua Hin, This time someone is waiting for me at the airport and instead of catching the VIP bus straight to Petchabun i think i'd rather find a hotel near the bus station so we can leave early in the morning and get there at a reasonable time the next day, Maybe pop to bang Bua Thong to see a friend as on the way back down i wont have time.
I havent a clue about Bangkok really, What bus station has busses that go up north.
A hotel suggestion would quite helpfull, With the prospect of not having so many Baht per £, Something quite reasonable and secure for a night is all im after, Any Ideas Guy and Gals?.

You need Mo Chit bus terminal to head to the North, it’s up near the Don Muang tollway. There are a couple of busses a day that go there directly from Hua Hin including, I think, the first one very early in the morning which might be the night bus you’re referring to.I have a clue about Bangkok really, What bus station has busses that go up north.

you do need to go to mo chit (north terminal) to get yr bus and i believe there is a bus that leave around 2pm and get to wichian around 6.30/7pm allowing for all the stops on the way coz the thai occupants need feeding

Some good information Thanks all
.
Ive got my bearings on Google earth, Where is Soi 19 in regards to Morchit?
To be honest now i know where i am, I know a restaurant on the way to Nonthaburi (its an inside/outside restaurant called Un Idin i think) and a reasonably priced 13 coins hotel in Bang Yai which is about 50 baht away from my friends place.

Soi 19 is on Sukhimvit, so central. Mo Chit is "up north" close to the old Don Muang airport as mentioned before.
If you're traveling light, I'd be inclined to take the skytrain to Mo Chit station - end of the line going north. No changes, quick, efficient and cheap. You can get a taxi easily at the station there and you're only a short distance away from the bus terminal.
Alternatively, take a taxi all the way. Won't cost too much (maybe 200-250 Baht) and travel time, depending on traffic, should be 40 mins to an hour.

I just stayed at the Citadines on sukhumvit 11. It's a 5 min walk from Nana station which would take you to Mo Chit easily. It came to about 1800Baht for a brand spanking new room with desk and nice size flat screenTV and boradband all included. It also has a kitchenette with microwave and mini fridge. Small gym and pool on the 8th floor. It's excellent value and very conveniently located.
Hoel in Bangkok.
I recently stayed at the President Solitaire Hotel and Spa.
Approx £50.00 for the night, but was pretty damn good, wide screen tv, enormous bed and right near to shops and bars etc. just don't drink out of the mini bar...£25.00 for a 1/4 bottle of whisky!

Crikey, that's good value. With a big bed and a mini bar you can't go wrong.Lindsay wrote:I recently stayed at the President Solitaire Hotel and Spa.
