I will be in Hua-Hin over Christmas and have looked into staying at the Hua-Hin sports villas. It seems reasonably priced and has good facilities and was wondering if anyone had stayed there before and had any opinions, good or bad, about the place?
Also it looks a little far outside of the town centre is it difficult to get in and out?

Its only 5 minutes out of town on Scooter.
I know quite a few who stop there for months every year so they are happy with it.
I think you'll be lucky to get in there now though.
I’ve never stayed there myself, but I visited a friend who had a room there and it seemed pretty good for the money.
It’s on the main road so you’ll have no problem getting a taxi or motor-bike taxi into town or a songthaew, (a pick-up truck bus thing.)
I stayed there for 6 months and found it ok. They charge over the top for electricity and water in my opinion. Dont be surprised to pay 3000 bht a month if you use aircon all day!
It has a resturant downstairs which is ok and they will deliver to your room which can be convenient.
Getting into town is no real problem as there are motorcycle taxis which sit at the entrance and tuk tuk's are always up and down that road.
They have laundry on site and 2 pools. One of which is for residents only.
Try and stay away from rooms on the flyover side in the heat of summer as its known as the wall of death as it gets the sun all day!! It gets so hot the paint peels inside the room!!! No kidding...
All in all I enjoyed my time there as there is a buzzing community with a big tv screen for sports...
Its also well on the way to the best beach in Hua Hin which is Haad sai noi. (oh god the secrets out...!)
There's also the "Baht Bus" taxis for cheap transport. They are light green pickups with a cover over the back that run regularly all the way from Takiab to downtown Hua Hin. They come by about every 15 or 20 minutes and you just wave them down and hop on the back with every one else. When they get to where you want to go, you just push a button that lets the driver know you want off and he/she will stop. Then you go to the window and pay a fixed price. I haven't used one in a couple of years but they used to be 8 baht for anywhere they went.... probably up to 10 baht now but still a bargain!
