Winter in Thailand officially begins on Tuesday

https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/ge ... on-tuesday

The cool season in Thailand will officially begin on Tuesday, about two weeks later than the historical average, and will end in late February, said Sukanyanee Yawinchan, the department’s acting director-general.............

According to ThaiMet, rainfall in October in Hua Hin lived up to its reputation as the wettest month of the year with 323 mm (versus an October average of 254mm).

It was also the first month this year to have above average rainfall.

However we still remain down overall on the year to date by approx 25%

CHIANG MAI - It was a chilly Monday (November 4) morning at the top of Thailand's tallest mountain, Doi Inthanon, where the temperature dropped to a cool 7°C.

Meanwhile, in the south the wet season is ramping up as usual. We had some epic over night thunder storms in BS. Get ready to update your Thailand Floods thread ...

There was a lot of rain during the night and this morning where our house is, so there could be isolated flooding.

Must have hammered down around soi102 at some stage. I drove back from Bkk earlier, and the drainage either side was virtually overflowing, and they only dredged it out in the last couple of weeks, but still there was a large area stretching a few hundred metres where the whole road was affected, and even beyond 102, there was some localised flooding.

Thanks, and excuse my ignorance, but over what period? That does seem very high.

Hua Hin November average is 81mm

I can't confirm it yet but I think we've had more than double that already by the 7th

Will update when ThaiMet catches up
