As I understand it, and correct me if I'm wrong mods, you can post a review of a place you have been to for the benefit of others, but if you have an interest in the place or it belongs to you or your family in any way that is self promotion which is not allowed.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Correct, we encourage unbiased reviews and recommendations for establishments and services in and around Hua Hin but of course if you or your family/friends owns or works at the venue/business in question, that would be considered as self promotion and hence forbidden. Additionally repetitive plugs by the same person for the same venue/business also raises suspicion and may cause a moderator to make a comment/edit.

Our rules may seem strict but in reality they are not, we are simply trying to prevent freeloading as we are sure those affiliated with such businesses/services/venues would if people consistently frequented them expecting freebies. We have even designed a budget advertorial package for those small businesses/establishments that want to be professional about marketing themselves on a public forum.

I am confused. Who was promoting their own business? :?

I have given lots of places reviews on this forum and will continue to do so and hope others will do the same as I have found some great places using this forum. Where is this burger place? The only burgers I eat are either JD's pork ones or at the Banyan and occasional junk food one if I am busy and hungry. I have no vested interest in any of these establishments.

As for the worst "Burger costumer" have a look at Ronald and Mr Wimpy.

Well as nobody seems to want to tell me where this place is I tried a burger from a place called "Mix and Match" outside at the front of MV. Not being American or Australian I am no burger expert but it was as good a spot basic cheeseburger with lettuce, onion and tomatoes as I have had anywhere. 120 Bt with chips, cold beer and you can smoke so I will be back.

It's an entrance past the short entrance road down to Coco51/Duke's, you go into a gravelled car park area first then the restaurant is beyond that in a beachfront place called ' You Yen' or similar. Just like going into Supatra-by-the-sea. Went today but it was their 'closed' day.

That Mix and Match is a decent little place, excellent location for watching the comings and goings, only really ever had a beer there.

Mix and Match is one of our favourite places to while away the time over a coffee people watching. It seems to becoming a regular with a lot of locals so there always seems to be someone to catch up with there.

Yep SJ the restaurant is You Yen and very popular with Thais. Very busy at weekend with the Bkk crowd. Similar setting to Coco 51 for those who have not been. The burger place is on the right ? Never eaten there only You Yen which is always excellent IMO.

Beats me why anyone on holiday in the LOS wants to waste their time eating burgers anyway, when there are so many other meals to try. (Same applies to KFC, MacDonalds and Pizza Hut.)
OK when you are an expat you sometimes crave farang food, and then you cook your burgers at home bought from JD so you know what you are getting.

I agree. The only Farang food I crave from time to time is a nice cheese and tomato sandwich which I then make at home. Other than that, and some toast once in a while, there's plenty of Thai food to keep me busy. Over the years I've become so used to Thai food that I find most Farang food really bland. I mean, what could beat a nice green curry.......a million times better than any burger IMO.

I've even learned how to make my own curry pastes :thumb:

Just recently I tried my first ever 7/11 burger and to be honest, I was disgusted. One bite and into the bin it went. I doubt my dog would eat one of those, and I'd hate to know what goes into those burger patties.

The first three or four years I lived here (as well as 8 years before that) I ate almost exclusively Thai food, but now I'm bored with it somewhat and eat more foreign food than Thai.

Must admit that I like my stodge but even mashed potatoes have got to have plenty of crushed garlic and black pepper in them.
The only "real" Thai dishes I eat are green and massaman curries and laarb.
But, to me, that's the great thing about spices. A simple western dish can be made more exciting by adding some spices. OK, we experiment and sometimes get the taste wrong but we know better for the next time.
Bacon and eggs just don't taste right without 10 chillies and fish sauce.

After a couple of years of eating Thai food only I drifted back to western home cooking a couple of days a week. Whilst I am wandering off topic I just had the absolute best wonton soup I have ever come across and I lived in HK long enough to know. A few of the posters will know where to get it it. I will visit and review this burger joint when I next get a craving.

We used Yu Yen many times, as it was only a short walk from home and served very good food in good, quiet surroundings, if you ignored the frogs

I wish the burger place was up and running then, I for one would be up for a bloody burger any night.

I like my beef so rare, that a good vet could have it on it's feet in 10 minutes.
I've lost my mind and I am making no effort to find it.

When asked how he would like his steak my friend would say "rip its horns off, wipe its arse and put it on the plate". So classy.
