I think you're right Terry, my favourite time of year once it gets sunny, dry and cool. I'm afraid BB is going to do the Bangkok bump and grind though during his landing approach. When do you get in BB? From what I can determine from various forecasts, it looks like the airport will be at its worst starting late tomorrow afternoon and through the night. Pete

Well, all we can do is hope for the best. Many times these things blow through and are gone earlier than predicted. If it is bad though, maybe good idea to spend the night in BKK rather than drive to HH. Pete

It is overcast and has been raining this afternoon in Bangkok. It regularly builds up late in the afternoon out to the East where the Airport is. The rain is always very patchy in the tropics, it can be a downpour in one area and bright sunshine a couple of miles away. It usually passes through quite quickly as well.

Go to this site and click on the satellite image on the right hand side and it shows what the above warning is talking about. The low off Vietnam is spinning towards Thailand and at the same time pulling in all the monsoon moisture from the west.

Be careful BB if you're at work as this is the site that was giving virus false positives last time you tried it. Pete

No worries, I'm definitely not at work - I'm travelling to Thailand today 8)

That satellite link is painful to load - 15 minutes now, and it's only half way. I think it might be a bit of a bumpy approach

Loads in a flash here, must be reverse internet constipation. Site is hosted in Thailand and you're suffering much the same that we suffer loading international sites. Pete

BB may luck out. They've cut the predicted rain totals in half during the last 12 hours for this side and the airport. It has started now with moderate winds and rain. Pete

Glad you made it in one piece. I was in Pattaya for the weekend and beautiful yesterday afternoon whereas when we left my house 50km away the rain was coming down sideways with high winds. Patts got clobbered last night around 0200 hours with very heavy rain and driving winds off the sea. So much so the roof where we were staying came loose. This morning, beautiful after 0900 hours. Pete
