Can you use one, or a Slide Rule for example?
Why would anyone need to?

the latest (Extreme) Model S will apparently do 0-60mph in around 2 seconds - a blink of an eye and utter stupidity to allow/insure any feckwit to drive on the public roads without suitable training IMHO.
Begs the question... what the hell will the new Tesla Roadster do when it comes on sale!

Elon isn't a fan of humans driving though. He wants the computers to do it. Says humans have too many variables to be safe on the roads. 🤣

I test drove a top of the range "Long Range" (then 2020'ish) Tesla Model S which had ridiculous acceleration (a smidgeon under 4 secs 0-60mph). The cornering of the car was incredible quite frankly, though it is itself a Saloon and low profile (not extreme). It is similar in "Power" and performance to the ICE "Supercars".
Here's a new 670HP Tesla S dual motor AWD being used as a taxi in Luxembourg!:

No question, but dangerous in the wrong or inexperienced hands. I've driven several sub 5 second 0-60mph (155mph+) ICE Cars and used them at "Track Days" at my "local" Castle Coombe Circuit (can certainly no longer afford to do so and with a "Surgical Boot" seemingly permanently attached, have the odd problem with a clutch!! ). I've had a lot of training to enable me to do so and through various other courses am an Advanced Driver (no, being a Pensioner does not class anyone as an Advanced Driver  ).
Going to the same acceleration but in +/- 2 seconds is simply uncontrollable especially to someone who has zero experience. Whilst the likes of this car will have masses of features like Full Traction Control, it truly is frightening.

Actually, this brings another question. Due to weight issues regarding batteries, EVs will be looking for weight loss elsewhere - does this or has this effected safety (i.e. Multiple Airbags, "Crumple Zones", "Side Impact" et al.)? Not having a pop at EVs, just a serious and honest question.

From what I’ve read, some of the safest cars out there are EV’s - I’ll try to find something and post it here

Thanks for that DB, but I think that report simply addresses things like safety to pedestrians (of course any vehicle moving at speed will likely kill you however it is powered), Batteries (danger in an accident or fire) etc. What I am asking though is the safety of the driver or passengers compromised due to the requirement to lose weight (Shell and Chassis)?

On a different subject, after recent posts I looked up on some used Tesla Model S Cars. Some seemingly incredible deals, but the price drop off when the car is 6+ years old is incredible. I'll have to try and look up with regards to age, mileage and number of charges/battery life - the latter obviously very significant. My AMG Merc (ICE of course) is now 12 years old, has the same performance as it always has had and I'm loathed to give it up.

As it stands however, I'm likely to be taxed beyond belief/unable to travel anywhere in the UK under this twunt Government if I keep the car.... :cuss: :cuss:

Maybe this is more what you’re after? https://www.whatcar.com/news/the-safest ... day/n19724

You’ll be pleased to see a Merc in 1st position but there are a number of EV’s in the top 10 safest car list.

The Geely EX 5, which is a new electric SUV from the parent company of Volvo and Polestar, also gained strong safety scores. It gained 339 points overall and was awarded 83% for its active safety systems - the second highest score in this area to date after the Mercedes E-Class, which is the highest achieving model of all.
There's one of those on display in MV at the moment:

Oh, it's no secret that I'm a lover of Mercs, but for very good reason. Incredibly safe (as pointed out above), pure quality and sound build... Not to mention rather exciting to drive when you look at AMG, Brabus and the ridiculous BLACK (AMG) versions... But of course these are ICE. I'm a little unsure with regards to a Merc EV or Hybrid - what I truly want is a Hybrid (or even EV) in a C-Class Body, unfortunately you just can't get it. The closest is the new A Class, but as popular it is, is far too small for me (and not quite the performance  ).
