The end of the World blue, the end of the World. What would ever happen to you lot when the Power Stations fail....

Elon isn't a fan of humans driving though. He wants the computers to do it. Says humans have too many variables to be safe on the roads.![]()
Here's a new 670HP Tesla S dual motor AWD being used as a taxi in Luxembourg!:I test drove a top of the range "Long Range" (then 2020'ish) Tesla Model S which had ridiculous acceleration (a smidgeon under 4 secs 0-60mph). The cornering of the car was incredible quite frankly, though it is itself a Saloon and low profile (not extreme). It is similar in "Power" and performance to the ICE "Supercars".
No question, but dangerous in the wrong or inexperienced hands. I've driven several sub 5 second 0-60mph (155mph+) ICE Cars and used them at "Track Days" at my "local" Castle Coombe Circuit (can certainly no longer afford to do so and with a "Surgical Boot" seemingly permanently attached, have the odd problem with a clutch!!
As safe as or safer, according to this article https://pod-point.com/guides/are-electr ... E2PIXYWKXmDannie Boy wrote: ↑Thu May 22, 2025 7:37 pm From what I’ve read, some of the safest cars out there are EV’s - I’ll try to find something and post it here
Thanks for that DB, but I think that report simply addresses things like safety to pedestrians (of course any vehicle moving at speed will likely kill you however it is powered), Batteries (danger in an accident or fire) etc. What I am asking though is the safety of the driver or passengers compromised due to the requirement to lose weight (Shell and Chassis)?Dannie Boy wrote: ↑Thu May 22, 2025 7:53 pmAs safe as or safer, according to this article https://pod-point.com/guides/are-electr ... There's one of those on display in MV at the moment:The Geely EX 5, which is a new electric SUV from the parent company of Volvo and Polestar, also gained strong safety scores. It gained 339 points overall and was awarded 83% for its active safety systems - the second highest score in this area to date after the Mercedes E-Class, which is the highest achieving model of all.
Oh, it's no secret that I'm a lover of Mercs, but for very good reason. Incredibly safe (as pointed out above), pure quality and sound build... Not to mention rather exciting to drive when you look at AMG, Brabus and the ridiculous BLACK (AMG) versions... But of course these are ICE. I'm a little unsure with regards to a Merc EV or Hybrid - what I truly want is a Hybrid (or even EV) in a C-Class Body, unfortunately you just can't get it. The closest is the new A Class, but as popular it is, is far too small for me (and not quite the performanceDannie Boy wrote: ↑Thu May 22, 2025 10:00 pm You’ll be pleased to see a Merc in 1st position but there are a number of EV’s in the top 10 safest car list.
