Just for the record (and leaving aside questions of excess testosterone and chromosomal abnormalities which are a separate matter and very possibly should disqualify this person) the Algerian is not a trans male. Imane Khelif was born female and grew up female in a country that does not allow gender reassignment surgery.

I had dinner with Daley many years ago. Very nice guy and hated the celebrity circuit. He took to my wife, in a nice way!

Thanks for the clarification - I've obviously leapt to the wrong conclusion and onto my Soapbox in one fell swoop   However, I'm still of the opinion that "She" (the Algerian) is more MALE than FEMALE and shouldn't be in the ring.....

Back to the Olympics!

Bronze for GB on the men's fours rowing.

We're performing well in the 3m men's diving but might be a silver or bronze. Chinese and Mexicans look hard to beat with only one dive go.

We get the bronze, a close competition. Chinese were defending champions but they were run close by GB and Mexico. One poor dive earlier let GB down.

GB have four medals from 4 diving events!

Thought GB were Gold all the way in the Pairs, but a massive come back from Croatia in the last 200m or so and a mistake by GB at the last, knocked them back into Silver by a whisker.

Gold for GB in the women's doubles sculls. Outstanding race. They missed gold in Tokyo by 1/000th of a second.

They'll retire now. 😊

GB's hockey ladies comprehensively demolished by Argentina 3-0. I don't know the rankings so no idea whether that's expected, but that's first time they have beaten GB since 2012.

Cross fingers for our men's team who should do better.

Gold for GB in men's rowing eights. I missed it because had to go out today, for a change!

Isn't it great when people make assumptions without any proof as has been the case here as well?

Indeed, and as mentioned above, I was one of those who leapt to the wrong conclusion and on to my Soapbox. HOWEVER, the condition that "she" apparently suffers from makes things far from straightforward - i.e. having the (Male) XY Chromosome and (very) significantly elevated levels of Testosterone. It's all well and good saying she was born and brought up a female, but this condition is not going to become clear(er) until puberty. Sorry, but I'm sticking to my opinion (however harsh it may be), in that "she" should not be in a (Female) Boxing ring - there is a clear and obvious danger.

Apologies for my initial Rant, but never fear.... I shall refrain for commenting further!

Anywho - GB looking good on the Medals Table thus far!! I truly do hope they can keep it up :thumb:

Just watched the Mixed 4 x 400m Relay - WOW, what a finish by the Dutch to pip the US for the Gold and one hell of a performance from GB for the Bronze it must be said :thumb:

I wasn't really against any individual but the social media world where people get the opinions from. It's easier to read something on the social media than to believe in scientific facts. That's what our world has come to and we all live in it.
