It was only ever BKK that under a state of emergency - other than the long-running problems down south. That was lifted about two weeks ago.
I should think it adversely affected tourism, but in reality there was no difference to day-to-day life in BKK whatsoever. I was up there overnight on the first day it was imposed.
While on the subject Lomu - I heard that there had been a train bombed down South two or three weeks ago. Surprised there were any running really, but hey ho. Any truth there?
