Hua Hin Ave
I stayed in the deluxe room at 2000 baht. It has recently been remodeled and is beautiful. It has a large jacuzzi, the tiled floor and bath are how I would want my home done.
The place is quiet, close to the night market, and they offer a free breakfast and coffee in the mornings. Breakfast is limited to a ham and cheese sandwich but good non the less. They share a pool with a hotel in the back.
Important thing is that my picky wife was happy with the accommodations.
minus -- Wi Fi rarely worked, had to have them reset the modem often.

A option is maybe also Baan Manthana House the hotel next door
, Manthana has 2 buildings in the block.
At the moment im staying there and im very pleased about the service and clean spacious rooms. For a week rent you pay 5400 Baht, WIFI is 200 Baht for a week use (but the same problem with modem sometimes and its not that fast, i got about 50kbps). Only minus is that they dont offer breakfast, but i always have something of the 7/11 in the fridge or i go to one of the (hotel)restaurants on Sra Song Road.
Google their name and you will get their site with contact details and impressions of the rooms (i dont have enoug post counts to place a link
).
If you want a impressions of Hua Hin and the neighbourhood you can try my pixagogo photopage, pixagogo com/2897354119
If your going to stay in Hua Hin Avenue or Manthana house you have to keep in mind that in de middle of the block there is a construction site of a new building. So if you have a room facing inside the block your alarm clock in the morning will be the construction workers and the view will be limited. Further more the location of both hotels is perfect, near the trainstation, center of town or beach.
Edit
Hmmm just seen the original post was from last year. Mod do what you wanna do with my reply

Moonbeam, look here: http://www.huahinmedia.com/huahin-avenue.php
I intend to live forever - so far so good.
Yup, Norseman, I've looked through this link before.
Forgive me for being "extra" diligent; I wanted to source out some folks who've had first hand experience with the accommodation and hear what they have to say about it.
Interestingly, this forum's the only place where I've managed to find a review on the HH Avenue. Its apparently quite new, and most web accommodation sites don't take bookings for it (only reservation and enquiries)!
Thanks anyhow.
