Fare for public Taxi from BKK to Hua Hin?
Hello all,
Want to ask you guys what's the fare like for public taxi from BKK Suvarnabhum airport to Hua Hin... I'm referring to the public taxis, not limousine kinds. Is the rate fixed as there's a booking kiosk there that regulates fares? Or can it be bargained.
Many thanks for getting back!

I don't think the booking kiosk has any real authority so, yes you should bargain. The cab is not obliged to take as it outside his range but most will do it anyway.
The least I have heard of recently was 2,000 Baht but I think 2,500 might be more realistic.
Pick the newest looking cab you can see.

Yeah, for any long distance taxi trip pick the newest looking unit...and also look at the tires which could well be s&*t regardless of the body. Pete

Moonbeam the last green and yellow cab i hired from Bangkok to HH, we got in, then realized there was no rear seat belts in the car, so if you are traveling with someone consider this factor because your driver will endeavor to get you there in break neck speed, spurred on by the salt flats (farms) and the big Bridgstone signs he will think he has to break the record for the fastest time there.
Kendo.

Limey,
I wouldn't normally comment here, but as the MODs are probably asleep, a posting was made by Admin back in May (I think) stating that posters should not post anything in direct competition to site sponsors.
Taxi links are one that they were referring to. However, PM to the OP is quite acceptable.

Big Boy is spot on.
We also need some sleep, not much, just enough.

We do not permit links to sites offering the same services as we do such as taxis, car hire or property rentals.

Thank you Norseman.
Taxi prices vary from under 2,000 baht to over 3,000 baht but as someone above rightly said: "you get what you pay for". There is a difference between a limo and a chauffeur and an unlicensed local in a 15 year old Toyota you can find in the street, hence the difference in price.
