Im agree with some what you say lev.

But please not allow me to show some of your response to many poster.

I am understand about terms but why have forum if anyone cant speak truth and tell about anything in your (city) unless sponsor.

Ip adress not help many people who want people to explain there comments.

As for mods, just look at conection on this site ie sponsor and all clear.

i am look at many subject and see your mods atack people after already banned, is this what you call mods doing good job.

The cost of running forum is very small as many friend have same thing so this is herring. how many mods earn per cent of moneys if they bring in new adds?

Where i say mods not have work permit, can you show as i think i am ask a frendly question or maybe sore point.

If you pay your tax and vat Thailand why you worry anyway as you will have permit, maybe.

I am speak about this as this always problem small forum but sure you learn in some years that if have no posts but only mods then have no forum.

But who is boss forum.

What a load of bollox.
Mods are unpaid in any way, shape or form. We do it because we've been in town for quite a while, have a bit of spare time on our hands and feel that the board may be of use to others.

You're getting all mixed up. What the fuck do I need a work permit for? I'm unpaid, so it's unnecessary. Even if I had one to work as a brain surgeon in Thailand, I couldn't work with that permit as a carpenter. They're job specific.
As for your wonderful observation about some supposed connection between us mods and sponsorship, I don't have a business here, so what possible advantage do I get? None. Just a few thank yous from people who've appreciated the time and advice given - FOR FREE. :guns:

In all honesty , I dont think you should be slagging off and asking posters that you disagree with to go away.

Defeat them by reasoned debate , (if you can )

This forum does need more posters , and rather than just coming on and agreeing with the previous posts which just makes for boredom and short threads that die a death , posters should be allowed to speak their minds.
Even trolls should be allowed to have their fun. They spark debate and get replies from outraged members. Leave them alone , they are often more interesting and provocative than the usual bedtime reading that this forum has to offer.

So long as such a lot of of the posts in HHAD are related to the handful of ramshackle bars , how to string along more than one bar girl at a time and where can I get a hand job without the wife finding out that seem to make up so many posts on this forum , then it will surely die anonymously , and quite frankly the sooner the better.

Is Hua Hin becoming a retirement home for Pattaya-ites ? I hope not.

Huh! Learn from Thai Visa? In what way? Get slagged off by the regulars for asking the wrong question?

I read and use this forum precisely because it is specific to Hua Hin, What do you want a forum called Hua Hin after dark to be about? Interesting to see that the Hua Hin / Cha am section on TV is a dead man's zone by comparison!

But, and there is always a but, the name did initially make me think it was specific to the seedier aspects of night life (wonder how I managed to work that one out - and not that that's necessarily bad), but Dawn mentioned as much in the thread about Dog's, so maybe some potential users do get put off.

I for one know that it is about much more than what you say it is and its worth logging on just to pick up the muses of Guess, to name but one.

Sometimes I find myself laughing out loud when checking the site in my lunchbreak at work, much to amusement of my colleagues!!!

Well if that happens you just have to fight back , like i said , improve your debating skills against some of the knuckleheads over there.

But , it is lively forum.

Very true ,
maybe Hua Hin residents just dont have too much to whinge about then.

Trolls are not welcome here, they have been banned before and we do not want them back. If they cannot abide by the simple rules of the board then they do not deserve the privilege to post here. Some people just have one agenda and it is to cause trouble, we don't want them on HHAD.

ThaiVisa is the most aggressive forum I have ever read, this is not what an online community is about.

For your information we have been expanding in terms of web presence and traffic every month since we started almost 3 years ago, we are not going down the path that you envisage.

I'm a little surprised by all the argument on some of these issues, and in some cases I'm tempted to say that some posts show signs of low intelligence. Morons with strong opinions is nothing new, and against stupidity even the gods are helpless in deed, but at least you have to make an effort not to let these people ruin a good forum like this. People who can't come up with proper arguments for their statements should just shut up instead of throwing out crap towards others. However you can't expect all discussions to end up with, as Guess so nicely put it, male bonding.

And since this requires moderation and the fact that a website needs maintenence, it should be obvious that it has to be paid for. Hence the protection of advertisers on HHAD and prohibition of promoting for personal economical purposes without paying for it. Simple.

And i'm pleased to hear it. forums like this can keep the expat community informed about all those issues that affect us here, we certainly cannot rely upon the press for that.

I've just re-read my first post on this topic
then it will surely die anonymously, and quite frankly the sooner the better.
When quoted like that it reads terribly, and that is not quite what i meant. maybe i'm not quite clear on the meaning of "troll" posts.

I like this forum , and hope to "grow" into it during my sojourn in hua hin, yes, its a lot gentler than thai visa, and i can see that that can be a good thing too.

So, apologies for wishing HHAD an untimely demise , I in fact wish it continued success.

So is this forum community only for people in hua hin so that others can read it or is for visitors who want to share experiances and have a chat.
Hmmm :? im beginning to wonder. Alot of posts i have added i seemed to have copped alot of quoting of what i have said and from what i have read of responses i am slightly discouraged to continue posting and just look on and read information and no longer post and promt discussion. I wonder if other members who have joined and stopped posting besides one off visitors to hh feel the same. I might add i joined HHAD as it seemed to be one of the better thai forums i had checked out and im a twice yearly visitor to hh.
Maybe there are some forums that are only for the hh hard core locals, and maybe this should be noted so that newbies like myself dont run away with there tail between there legs.

As an Aussie you should be used to taking a bit of good natured stick !!! :thumb:

Seriously though some of the replies can be a bit curt to say the least but most are friendly and informative. Well that is what I have found.
