LET ME CLARIFY THINGS ONCE AND FOR ALL!!!

Post by hhenias »

I appreciate all comments, all advice, about purchasing a House in Hua Hin.

Nevertheless, maybe I do not have the luxury to come and stay there for a month. I will be in Hua Hin during the first days of August, along with my family, and we will have 2 days to move around, check potential Houses and maybe decide. What't wrong with that? If I come to Hua Hin at least knowing a few things about the place, I believe this will ease my task.

Second point I want to make perfectly clear. I am NOT involved in the Housing Industry, never was, never will. My profession is a Journalist, and I have also worked as a Teacher of English for a year. My wife in Neither in the Housing Industry.

Having said that, I invite anyone who can direct me to do so. I will accept anything, but I am not willing to accept questioning my motives, which were laid down when I joined this forum.

Good morning to you all. You see here in Cyprus, now the time is 7.15 in the morning.

Enjoy

I think that doing it this way is one big gamble and from what I know the odds are against you.

You need to spend time here as many posters have suggested!

Wouldn't this depend on the people involved?
If you don't thrust JW then it's up to you, but I know the man personally and in my opinion one of the very - very few people living here in Hua Hin I really can pin my faith on and I'm not alone in this viewpoint.

Hi Norseman

Not talking about JW as I know he is well respected. Talking about in general terms going to a place for a few days and buying is a big gamble as there are so many variables to take into account and to have a good chance of getting it right you really do need to spend time in the place. It's not as if it's a sellers market and you may miss out on a bargain of a lifetime.

Agree with what you say Jimmy, but our Cypriot friend said he did not have the possibility to stay a month or so.
You then have to trust somebody who is able to give you some input, based on facts and not greed.
That is why hhenias should have a talk with JW.
Who else knows the market better than him?

Other than that Jimmy, I second what you say completely!!

A few other estate agents have come on these threads and offered good advise. Mainly to come to Hua Hin and figure it out for yourself etc without being pressured. I think there are plenty agents who know the market.

Agreed Kelpie - 'without pressure' But surely allowing only a couple of days to decide is pressure in itself? With respect to hhenias, who is clearly keen to get things straight, I still can't figure why, with the money and intent to buy, a little extra time can't also be bought? Or even a long term rental to start with.

KelpieKiss; Just to clarify.
I'm sure there are many agents in HH that can give you good advises in the property marked.
No doubt about that.

The thing is, I don't know any other agents than JW and can not advise people to deal with agents I know nothing about.
Second hand information is not good enough for me when we are talking about millions of hard earned cash.
Additionally, when you don't have the time to spend weeks and months researching the marked, you need some trustworthy and sound advises from somebody in the business.

You guys say there are plenty agents who know the market and that's fine.
But who?

I know 3 other members of this forum are estate agents in HH or Cha Am and they are probably among the good guys.
Respectively one from Scotland, Germany and England.
BUT, I don't know them personally, hence preventing me from giving advises or recommendations on their behalf !!
