I don't know much about this, but I thought the big ones weren't really that bad. Maybe they sting, but just like nettle rash?
The small ones are dangerous though - and I'm not talking about box jellyfish.

Afraid they are still around. Saw 5 of the buggers in the space of 1/2 hour today. Don't let it put you off, at least you can see them (hopefully). Just the season again for them I guess

Jellyfish

Many of them near the Nong Kae part of beach, bottom of soi 81, they were arriving thick fast.

People in the sea were signaling to each other as they spotted them.
Great cooperation between all nationaities.... good to see.

At least the water is quite clear at the moment so you can spot them

Keep your eyes peeled

Have been in the Khao Takiep/Nong Khea area for many years and it always seems to be bad for Jelly Fish in the hot season Mar/Apr/May before the start of the rainey season.

Don't know if there is any particular reason for this but saw a TV prog recently about Jelly Fish migrating to hunt Fishrather than being blow by prevailing wind and currents. Wonder if there is any reason for the Fish migrating closer to the Beaches in the hot season.

The prog was mostly about the Box Jelly problem in Aussie.

Nong Khea is the small village just past Khao Takiep. Is about 8 kms south of Hua Hin. The Beach there Suan Son stretches all the way to the next headland at Khao Tow about 10kms.

A swedish little girl was stung to death by an Jellyfish on Koh Lanta a couple a days ago, so be careful out there!! Normaly it dosn't leads to death if you're stung in Thai waters, but Jellyfish with stronger and sometimes deadly wenoms can drift from other corners of the world, and end up on Thailands shores!
