Why have music SO LOUD?

i think its 3 things that makes thai able communicate over longer distances. first of all the thai language, with a rising and falling tonal language its easier to hear what people say even it you dont hear each syllible. second its the noice. thai are more acustomed to concentrate on one sound and tune out any others. third i think thai are more used to read lips.

Have you ever sat down with 4 or more Thai women whilst the are eating. Each of the 4 women will be talking with the other women at exactly the same time. They all hear what the ones are saying.

This is women, displaying their skill of multi-tasking at its best - its amazing.

been there, done that and found out that the girls had trouble when they switched to english. not that they were bad at english, just did not get the melodie of the language.

You're very lucky - in my house, its usually a case of sit the Farang at the table in the dining room; then the Thais make camp on the floor of the living room. That way their Thai doesn't get disturbed by Farang.

It is rare for us to eat at the same table when she is entertaining guests - she really prefers the floor.

Ha ha ha Big boy I know what you mean. I have a lovely big dining table and also a small coffee table in front of the TV, but where does the significant other choose to eat? In the middle of the livingroom on the floor!! I give up....

Back to the original topic I see that Lucky Lukes are still blasting away with many other bars in the block upping the decibels as well.
Strange how the police haven't had words with them,. Either it's a big backhander or they are just waiting for their annual review when they will come and say that the bars must close at 1.00am, then change it to 2.00am upon payment of increased 'security' payments.

if the girl prefers the floor for eating this just means that she is a jungle girl from surin or buriram thats what i got told by my lady! she really would be upset when i offer her the floor!

hmmm...I also know girls from the south preferring the floor for eating.
I think it has nothing to do where in TH these girls are coming from, but from what kind of social class.

2 two thai wives and they always eat on the floor i agree richard we must be only 2 of very few that are not trying to kill of the thai culture SAD SAD SAD

I agree,of course its a question of social class and i also believe that you will find this customs also in other parts of the country.

We eat at are table...sometimes...She prefers standing up in the kitchen

and i have took to fork and spoon!!! help!!
