Post by tony19690 »

Are there any safe and clean Tattoo Artists in Hua Hin, i remember seeing one as you cross the road from the night market heading towards the piers a couple of blocks down on the left.

^ Neither do I.

I've had 3 tattoos done here, OP. The one I'm happiest with (I like all of them, btw) was done by Siam tattoo in the bazaar area near Bernie's bar. Mind you, it was over a year ago & I don't go drinking in that area, so I hope he's still there.

Anyway, it was my own design idea, which he interpreted freehand - no transfers & I was really impressed both with the tattoo & with the service & aftercare advice.

The place you're talking about is where I got the other two done. Also good. Both places are clean & safe.

well
as this would be totally my avenue
and where the nick name Dr dave comes from formally having a chain of piercing studios. any one wishing to gain the art of body art in the way of piercing or ink should first of all Think !!
do yo really want this ring or ink !
once this ring or ink is in the pink the ink will be in the pink period there is no going back, spelling mistakes , wrong colours etc you will be scared for life , to be totally honest i have never in the amount of years in Thailand seen in any tattoo parlor come up to the standards compared to what is required else where in the world or what i would call the right conditions, although there are some very fine artists with varying levels of hygiene around .if you want it you will go for it !
at the end of the day you are going to get this done whether you are under the influences or on a dare or what ever ..
please remember this will be with you for life !
not just your holidays ..
there are numerous nasty things you can acquire from needles if not done in the proper manner , please don't think i am suggesting any tattooist here is not knowledgeable about their art and the risks involved the majority are but only conform to the basic levels of standards required to practice their art

a few things to look for would be all equipment to be sterilized Via a some form of recognized sterilization procedure, autoclave or similar, ensure everything comes out of a sealed sterilized and sealed package , fresh ink trays with fresh inks in clean & sterilized containers and so on . all the nasty stuff is transmitted via items that have been previously been used on a previous client although they may not realise or know ........
i wont go into the list of transmittable variants as these are, these should be well known including HIV just to name one
at the end of the day if its in your mind to get inked up go for it!!!! but please do it in a careful and safe way, its your own wellbeing at the end of the day once the ink is in the pink its is in for good ! so are the nasties which may come with this art form..and it is art there are some very fine artist whom create some very fine future lampshades and wall hangings all at the expense of others pain and suffering !!!

Siam 111 in the Bazaar as mentioned is pretty good, nice fella too with competitive rates. Thailand Tattoo centre is clean & professional, but expensive. I've been in two others in the town also, but would stay well clear.

The president of the Asulraguy MC has a studio in Satukarn square behind Nops' place in front of the Dutch restuarant .The 2 artists (Nidder & Rat ) are always busy with European clients .I have seen many of their clients return time after time for more artwork .Make sure you have plenty of 1 baht coins to use the public toilet in the square .

Cleanliness and professionalism is a no-brainer but for me the clincher is how well the tattooist can make my tea (milk and at least 4 sugars is my special remedy) for the event! 8)

Anyone else go through similar rituals at tat-time?
