Car Remote Central Locking

Post by Don East Stand »

Hi, :thumb:

My car key remote central locking is a bit hit and miss, sometimes it works, sometimes not! :( :? I have had the battery changed but no difference.

It's not a major problem, as the key works the central locking.

So, should I go into Toyota and get them to check out the remote, or are there good, cheaper alternatives out there?

Any idea of cost?

The remotes can go bad; usually with intermittent operation and limited range, before finally giving up the ghost. If you go to a shop selling those remotes, they will need a working one to reprogram a new one. But some remotes they cannot do and you will have to go to the dealer. Which is the better idea because those codes won't be used to program another in secret.. Just saying..

Hi Guys, :thumb:

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated and very helpful. :D

I found a key shop on Soi 70 heading up towards the big roundabout, it's on the right hand side. They also sell watches and clocks.

Very helpful staff, soon had my "hit and miss" remote working perfectly!!! :D

They refused to take any payment

The guy even came out of the shop and wanted to give me a lift on his motorbike to my car, which was parked approximately 300 metres away, to make sure it was working OK

I will certainly go back there again if I ever need anything like that, or even keys cut for the house.
